Valparaiso, Indiana - UIC claimed its first Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Championship. The Flames finished the season with a 17-4 overall record and a 7-1 conference record. The Flames defeated No. 3 Illinois State and top-seeded and reigning champions Murray State to capture the title. This marks the first team championship title for UIC since joining the MVC. UIC started off the match taking the doubles point with wins in flight 1 and 3. Both flights ended 6-2 with the duo of Nia Cooper and Paula Rodriguez Gregoris winning the deciding set. The Flames continued the heat with Anais Brion earning the first singles point in two sets (6-4, 6-2). The MVC Player of the Year Mayu Ushio continued earning another point in flight 1 for the Flames in two sets as well (6-4, 6-3). The match-clinching point was decided by Marta Halbersztadt in flight 4 (6-3, 7-5).
