Valparaiso, Indiana - The 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Championship got underway on Friday, April 25, with Belmont and Illinois State securing spots in the semifinals. Belmont advances to the semifinal to face regular season champion and top-seeded Murray State, while Illinois State will face the No. 2 seed UIC on Saturday. 

Belmont 4, UNI 1 - Box Score
Belmont started off the match taking the doubles point with wins in flight 2 and 3. The duo of Sarah McElrath and Libbie Hamilton was the deciding pair with a 7-5 win at No. 3. In singles, Viktoria Kliimand took flight 2 for Belmont in dominate fashion. She secured the point in two sets (6-0, 6-1) only dropping one game. Ally Getty was the deciding factor and earned the final point to take the match (7-5, 6-1) for the Bruins.


Illinois State 4, Drake 2 - Box Score
Illinois State started hot with doubles wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Both finished 6-4 with Lana Caculovic and Silvia Pomarolli having the deciding set. In singles, Silvia Pomarolli took flight 2 in two straight sets (6-2, 6-2) to earn the Redbirds its first singles point of the match. Fight 1 and 5 finished minutes apart to end the match with Nicole Iosio earning the final point to advance the Redbirds with a score 7-5, 6-2 .
