The Miami men's swimming and diving team won the first Men's Swimming and Diving Championship since 2003. The pre-championship favorite Redhawks had a total score of 820 points beating out the Salukis who had 691.5 points. This win marks the first Missouri Valley Conference Championship for the Redhawks.

SATURDAY RECAP
Saturday night started with the 1650 Freestyle. Tommy Frye of Miami earned first place with a time of 15:30.53. Ball State's Malcom Slater followed shortly behind to earn second place with a time of 1:54.59. Jack Mills (UIC) earned the final top three spot with a time of 15:37.91.
In the 200y Backstroke, Jensen Nelson broke the first record of Saturday night. Nelson set a new championship and overall record with a time of 1:43.34 to earn first place for the Redhawks. Gonzolo Ruiz Vazquez of Missouri State earned second place with a time of 1:44.88. Luke Wiesner (UIC) closed out the top three with a time of 43.53.
The 100y Freestyle the Salukis showed their speed with all top three spots going to Southern Illinois. Alex Santiago broke the championship and overall record with a time of 41.95. AJ Terry followed behind with a time of 43.20 and Donat Csuvarszki landed the final top three spot with a time of 43.53.
James McCarthy of UIC earned the first place in the 200y Breaststroke with a time of 1:57.12. Southern Illinois' Henrique Pacheco followed quickly behind with a time of 1:57.54 to earn second place. Adrian Dulay earned the last spot in the top three with a time of 1:57.78.
In the 3M Dive Harrison Nolan (UIC) showcased his skill to earn 381.95 points in the first 3M 6 dive final in Missouri Valley Conference Men's Swim & Dive history. Nolan broke both the championship and overall record. Porter Brovont of Ball State earned second with 331.35 points. Christian Curtis of UIC earned the last spot in the top three with a points total of 324.80.
In the final event of the 2025 MVC Men's Swim and Dive Championship, Southern Illinois earned first place while it broke the 400y Freestyle Relay championship and overall record. AJ Terry, Donat Csuvarszki, Benedek Andor, and Alex Santiago brought the heat and finished with a time of 2:55.31. Miami followed behind with a time of 2:55.63 and the Bears closed out the top three with 2:56.93.
