Drake's Kane Hanson is Golfer of the Week

Senior Kane Hanson shot a final round 72 to pace the Drake men's golf team at the Hawaii Fall Intercollegiate on Wednesday, Nov. 9. He's this week's MVC Golfer of the Week.  New Mexico State's Robert Goff won the individual title with a 71-73-70=214. Goff won a three hole playoff against three other golfers. Hanson finished tied for sixth with a 73-71-72=216.

The Bulldogs posted a final round 298 on the par-72, 6,269 Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, while finishing eighth overall in the 19-team tournament with a 305-295-298=898.

New Mexico State won the tournament with a 283-287-301=871 to win by one stroke over UNLV which carded a 286-288-298=872. Defending champion and host school Hawaii (293-300-320=913) finished tied for 10th.

Drake senior Jeff Berkshire (Litchfield Park, Ariz.) tied for 27th with a 75-73-77=225. Drake junior Ross Hamann (Lakeville, Minn.) tied for 63rd with a 79-79-75=233. Redshirt-freshman Ryan Smith (Chaska, Minn.) joined Hamann in 63rd while shooting a 85-74-74=233. Junior Keth Malone (Lincoln, Neb.) tied for 81st with a 78-77-81=236.
