This week's Missouri Valley Conference golfers of the week include Belmont's Grant Clark and Illinois State's Elise Fennell.
Belmont's Grant Clark, a junior from College Grove, Tenn., placed 12th out of 123 golfers at The Peoples Championship, contested at the par-71, 6,664-yard layout at the Sean Palms Resort. He fired a three-round 68-74-68=210, earning his best finish as a Bruin. The two 68s are career lows for him. He holds a season average of 73.8. Belmont finished 11th overall. Murray State and Valparaiso also competed in the event.

Behind a final-round tournament score of 304 – Illinois State's best round of the three-round tournament – pushed the Birds ahead of Northern Illinois in the team standings. Leading the in the strong field was 34th-ranked Missouri, who won the two-day, three-round event with a team score of 862. Furman (866), #37 Kentucky (869), #41 Indiana (877), and Minnesota (880) rounded out the top five in the field. Reigning MVC Freshman of the Year Elise Fennell led the Redbirds by finishing her tournament with an even-par 72 over the final round, while her three-round score of 221. She closed strong on the day, as she had four birdies over her final five holes to close with the even-par round, and she had five birdies and eight pars over the 18 holes. For the tournament, her 11 birdies were tied for the fourth-most in the tournament field, while her 4.75 scoring average on par-5's was seventh-best.
