ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its Runners of the Week on Monday. Illinois State’s Cayde de Waal and Nora Brady have been selected for the men’s and women’s honorees. 



MEN’S RUNNER: Cayde de Waal, Jr. Illinois State – Johannesburg, South Africa 
Junior Cayde de Waal made an instant impact in his Division I and Illinois State debut, racing to a fifth-place finish in the men’s 8K at the Redbird Invite with a time of 24:44.6. He was the top finisher across all Division I student athletes.  de Waal’s strong performed helped lift the Redbirds to a runner-up finish at the meet, marking its best outing of the season.
 
WOMEN’S RUNNER: Nora Brady, Jr. Illinois State – Normal, Ill
Junior Nora Brady competed in the Redbird Invite where she finished runner-up in the women's 6K with a mark of 21:42.20. Her performance marked the 36th fastest finish for a woman on Illinois State's cross-country course. Competing in her hometown, Brady's performance helped the Illinois State women clinch the Redbird Invite title for the third- straight season. This marked Brady's second top 10 finish this season.
