WOMEN

Led by Chloe's Tarkany's individual title, the Belmont women's golf team captured the team title at the Braun Intercollegiate held this week at Oak Meadow Country Club in Evansville, Ind.  Tarkany earned her third career individual title by shooting an even par 72 in the final round to finish with a 36-hole mark of 145, two strokes ahead of runner-up and teammate Sloane Biddle (147). With the victory, she becomes just the second Belmont women's golfer to win three individual titles, joining Lorie Warren Drake, who captured seven during her career.  The Bruins notched their first team title since September 2023 when they won The Velvet Classic.  They shot a final round 295 to finish with a 36-hole mark of 599, 27 strokes ahead of second place finishers UIC and Indian Hills Community College (626).  UAB placed fourth at 629.  It was the program's 11th team championship in the Division I era and fifth under Head Coach Olivia Jordan.  Four other MVC programs were at the Braun Intercollegiate.  UIC tied for second in the team standings; Indiana State was fifth; Evansville placed sixth, and Valparaiso was 10th. | For Results - Click Here

MEN
Using a final-round team score of 292, the Illinois State men's golf team picked up its first win of the fall season since September 5, 2022, when the Birds picked up a victory at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, and ISU has now picked up a tournament win in each of the last eight full seasons.  The Redbirds and Butler Bulldogs ended knotted with a 54-hole score of 867, five strokes ahead of tournament host Dayton. TJ Barger had his fourth top-10 finish of the fall season – in five total events – as he placed sixth with an even-par 213 for the tournament, including an even-par 71 in the final round. Barger had four birdies and 10 pars in his final round, as he ends the fall season with a tournament stroke average of 70.1, which at his current pace would be the second-lowest season average in program history. His 40 career rounds at or under par is tied for the fifth-most over a career in program history, alongside Zach Burry (2014-18).
