WOMEN

Three women's programs (Illinois State, Murray State, Southern Illinois) competed in the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Ark.   Behind a final-round 69 (-3), Elise Fennell finished in a two-way tie for fourth place at the event, as the Redbirds placed 17 in the strong tournament field. Murray State was 14th, while Southern Illinois took 16th place.  Fennell's final-round 69 was her second at or under par round in the tournament, her sixth and seventh such rounds in 12 total rounds this fall, as her 21 career rounds at or under par rounds are tied for the third-most in program history, alongside Samantha Richdale (2002-06). Fennell had a bogey-free round, using three birdies and 15 pars for her to finish with the 69, her sixth career round under 70.

MEN
Three men's programs (Illinois State, Southern Illinois, Valparaiso) competed in the Purdue Fall Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.   Southern Illinois University men's golfer Anthony De Schutter continued his breakout fall season with another strong performance, capturing his third individual championship of the semester. De Schutter finished at six-under-par (210) to claim the individual title, carding rounds of 73, 67, and 70 to hold off Purdue's Will Harvey by one stroke. The victory marks his third win of the fall campaign and further cements his standing as one of the top golfers in the Missouri Valley Conference. He joins Matthis Besard as the only Saluki to win three tournaments in a season. As a team, the Salukis placed seventh overall out of 15 programs, finishing with a combined score of 877 (292–285–300). Southern Illinois was led by De Schutter's individual title and a consistent team effort.   TJ Barger of Illinois State tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard while leading the Redbirds to a fourth-place team finish.  Valparaiso took 15th place in the team standings.
