Murray State secured the outright 2024 Missouri Valley Conference women’s regular-season championship with its win today (a 5-2 score at Bradley). Murray State (8-0) earned its first MVC title (in any sport). By virtue of its MVC championship, the Racers secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming league championship.
It marks the 17
th-straight year that an MVC women’s tennis champ has gone unbeaten during the regular-season schedule (every year since 2007). Defending regular-season champ Illinois State earned the No. 2 seed for the MVC championship, which begins Friday, April 26 with quarterfinal matches from the Belmont Tennis Complex in Nashville, Tenn. Host Belmont earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed Drake in the opening match of the championship on Friday at 10 am CT. Drake is the defending MVC Women’s Tennis Tournament champ. UIC earned the No. 3 seed in this year’s championship and will face No. 6 seed Missouri State in quarterfinal action on Friday.
