- Belmont fell to Samford on Sunday as keeper Greta Genie tallied a league-best 10 saves. Samford finished the 2025 season with an RPI of 47.
- Southern Illinois scored a school-record five goals in a 5-0 shutout of Western Illinois on Sunday. Nao Katamoto assisted on all three second-haf goals. The previous record of four goals was accomplished twice in 2025.
- Indiana State opened its 2026 season with a commanding 3–0 victory on the road at Western Illinois last Wednesday. Meagyn Riffle led the way with three assists, while Alex Lehnert, Quinn Urquhart, and Riley Mathews each found the back of the net to give ISU a balanced scoring spread.
- Evansville had an impressive season-opening draw against Purdue (1-1). Senior Brooklyn Robinson scored the first goal of the season for the Purple Aces, netting the equalizer in the 47th minute. Transfer goalkeeper Bri Chirpich was stellar in her Evansville debut, making nine saves, the most by an Aces keeper since 2024 and the most by an Ace in their debut since at least 2005. The 1-1 draw in West Lafayette marked Evansville's third result against a Power Conference opponent since 2009.
- With the 2-2 draw against SIUE, Valpo is now 30-0-3 in its last 33 matches scoring at least two goals.
- Illinois State's Rylann Law scored the equalizer for the Redbirds in the 63rd minute. She had an additional three shots on goal during ISU's 2-1 comeback victory.
- UIC opened the season with a loss and a draw last week. The Flames will return to action on Thursday when they welcome Eastern Washington to Flames Field. UIC will be celebrating 'Hometown Heroes' night, where they will celebrate heroes across the Chicagoland community at halftime.
- Drake, the defending MVC regular-season champs has been picked to win the 2026 MVC women's soccer title. Along with the first-place preseason nod, the Bulldogs also had a league-best four players named to the All-Preseason Team. Isabella Balsley, Angela Gutierrez, Zoey Mahoney, and Alanna Pennington were all recognized by the league.
- Murray State went 0-2 against tough SEC competition in the first week under new head coach Ben Madsen. The Racers travel to South Bend to face Notre Dame on Aug. 23 before returning to Cutchin Field to host UT Martin on Aug. 27.
- Prior to Sunday's match against Milwaukee, UNI celebrated its 2026 senior day, recognizing seniors Jenna Scholz, Kailey O'Brien, Ella Ubben, Maya Anderson and Camille Landphair.
