The Missouri Valley Conference announced the women’s tennis weekly honors on Tuesday.

SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Moira Silva (Houston, TX) | Valparaiso | Singles
Valpo senior Moira Silva returned to the lineup after missing the season opener due to injury and didn’t miss a beat in the team’s lone match this week on Saturday against Northern Illinois. She prevailed in her No. 1 singles match, dominating both sets and dropping only four total games in a 6-2, 6-2 victory over NIU’s Irmak Budak. The win came against Budak, who finished last season with an overall singles record of 34-15 and was twice named MAC Singles Player of the Week. Silva recorded her 55th career singles win, seventh in program history, and improved to 7-2 in singles play this season.
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK:
Moira Silva (Houston, TX) | Brynn Steven (Wichita, KS) | Valparaiso | Doubles
The Valpo No. 2 doubles duo of Moira Silva and Brynn Steven picked up a 6-4 win over the Northern Illinois combo of Isabella Righi and Lucia Yecora on Saturday in the team's lone match of the week. The Beacons rode a key break early in the match to go up 3-2 that put them on the path to victory. Silva secured her 48th career doubles win, moving her into sole possession of seventh in program history, snapping a tie with Kate Evangelist (2003-2007).
