MVC Tennis Weekly Honors (Feb. 10)

ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Valley Conference announced the women’s tennis weekly honors on Tuesday. Maja Dodik of Drake was named Singles Player of the Week, Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Amber Sharp of Bradley were named Doubles Team of the Week.

SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Maja Dodik (Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina) | Drake | Singles 

Senior Maja Dodik performed well for the Bulldogs this week, helping lead Drake to its first team victory of the 2026 spring slate. Dodik, in the Bulldogs' top singles spot, began the week with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 win over Creighton's Sophie Schwartz. She followed that performance with 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win over Kansas City's Amal Gati. Her victory over Gati secured the Bulldogs' 4-3 win over the Roos on Sunday afternoon.

DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK:

Valeriia Ivanovskaia | Amber Sharp | Bradley | Doubles

Pairing up for the first time, senior Valeriia Ivanovskaia and freshman Amber Sharp defeated Emilia Korseth and Caroline Lindahl from St. Thomas, 6-2. The victory was Ivanovskaia's second doubles victory of the weekend and Sharp's first. Ivanovskaia and Sharp's victory was key to Bradley picking up the doubles point, as a Bradley win on court two would render the court three match unfinished.
