Conference News & Notes
- Indiana State established a league record when it scored 13 goals in a Sunday match against visiting Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. The previous league record stood at 11 (Creighton vs. Western Illinois in 1997).
- Both Evansville (4-3 win at SEMO) and Southern Illinois (4-0 home win vs. Eastern Illinois) tallied four goals in their season-opening matches. SIU’s four goals are the most in a match in program history.
- UIC lost matches by a 1-0 score, falling to Illinois and #23 Wisconsin on Thursday and Sunday, respectively. Both programs were Top 100 RPI teams in 2024.
- ISU’s Madi Valenti tallied a career-best 10 saves against Northwestern on Sunday. He save total is the single most in a match by a Redbird since 2023.
- With a 2-0 victory over Troy on Thursday, Matt Lodge, in his 8th season at Murray State, earned his 61st career win, the most in any tenure in MSU history.
- In the first match under the leadership of interim head coach Alex Place Thomas, Northern Iowa forged a 1-1 tie at South Dakota in Vermillion on Thursday.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute in Evansville’s season-opening win at SEMO. Added an assist in the 52nd minute to make it a three-point night. Was the offensive catalyst in UE’s first season-opening victory since 2018, while the four goals were their most in a game since 2014.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Megan Wilson, Murray St., Sr., D, Maidstone, England / Chobham Academy
Played all 90 minutes in both games, the leader of defense that allowed just one goal over two games this week, as well as limiting opponents to eight shots on goal. Put three shots on goal, scoring one.
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

In her first appearance as a Saluki, Reagan Miller posted a shutout in SIU’s 4-0 win over Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Aug. 14. Miller made one save from point-blank range to preserve the clean sheet.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Addyson Warner, Indiana State, Fr., MF, Dana Point, Calif.
Warner scored two first-half goals in the Sycamores 13-0 win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Sunday evening to highlight her week as the freshman made her Indiana State debut on the pitch over collegiate soccer’s opening week. The Dana Point, Calif., native entered the match in the 21st minute of play and quickly made her mark scoring her first collegiate goal at 28:03 on the clock with a goal off the assist from Ashlyn Cohen. She followed four minutes later with her second goal of the game at 32:11 to make it a 5-0 Indiana State lead over the Pomeroys. Warner finished the match with two goals on three shot attempts in 25 minutes of play.
