PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kiara Desiderio, Valparaiso, F, Fr., St. John, Ind. / Hanover Central High

Had three goal involvements in the first 11 minutes in win over Western Illinois in Valpo’s lone match of the week. Assisted on a 6th-minute goal before finding the back of the net herself in the 8th minute and the 11th minute. Goal in the 8th minute was the match-winner in the Beacons’ 5-1 victory. 1 of just 2 MVC players with 5 points in a match against a D-I opponent this year. Brace was her second of the season and gives her a team-best five goals on the year.

DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Jade Rehberger, Illinois State, D, Sr., Fort Thomas, Ky. / Highlands High

Helped the Redbirds post back-to-back shutouts last week, including the fifth shutout of the season, which leads the MVC and ranks 17th in the country. Helped Illinois State maintain a streak of allowing just one goal in its last six matches, which is the least in a six-game stretch since 2003.

Timmons anchored the Sycamores’ back line with back-to-back shutouts, totaling 13 saves across 180 minutes this week. She turned away six shots in the team’s 2-0 road win at Green Bay before following it up with a clean sheet against Lindenwood, where she posted four saves in a 0-0 draw.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Howell was a constant threat throughout the Racers’ match vs. SEMO, recording season/career highs in shots with seven and shots on goal with four. Howell scored her second goal of her career, her first goal since the season opener. Her goal was early in the second half, helping the Racers keep the foot on the gas and close out non-conference play with a dominating home win.
