- UIC’s Hannah Gryzik scored in the 73rd minute to lead the Flames to their first win in program history against DePaul with a 1-0 victory Thursday. And three different Flames scored Sunday in a 3-0 win against Green Bay as UIC won back-to-back matches last week.
- Evansville beat Austin Peay, 1-0, on Thursday, to move to 4-1, the program’s best start since 2021.
- In Illinois State’s 2-0 win over IU Indy on Thursday, freshman Rylann Law scored both goals. She became the first ISU freshman to tally a brace since Hannah Mueller on Sept. 19, 2018, against Western Illinois.
- Thursday’s 2-0 win against St. Ambrose match UNI’s Kennedy Buntenbach’s first career solo shutout. All of her other shutouts have been combined shutouts, including two this year (Western Illinois, Viterbo).
- Murray State beat UT Martin on Thursday with a 2-1 win in dramatic fashion, securing its first road victory of the season. Katie Donoghue scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute.
- After dropping its season-opening match, Belmont has a five-match streak that includes two wins and three draws -- including two even scores this week -- and is now 2-1-3 on the season. The Bruins have held an opponent scoreless in two of the past three matches.
- Indiana State outscored SEMO 5-0 on Sunday, and the Sycamores now have outscored their opponents this season, 27-15.
- Drake toppled visiting Omaha, 2-1, on Thursday for its first home victory of the season (1-1-1 this year in Des Moines).
- Valpo’s Saki Tsuchiya made her Beacon debut on Sunday, stepping into goal at the start of the second half -- she made five saves against Illinois, which included turning back a penalty kick.
- Southern Illinois concluded its five-match road trip with two wins this week, including a 1-0 result at Lindenwood on Sunday. With six victories this year (6-1-0), the Salukis have already matched the second-most wins in a season in program history (eight in 2022 is the record).
