ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Illinois State will serve as host for the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship, presented by Credit Union 1, at Duffy Bass Field in Normal, Illinois.
 
Action starts on Tuesday, May 20, with seeds 5-8 squaring off in a single-elimination game. The top four seeds earn an automatic bye into Wednesday, which begins a double-elimination format.
 
Murray State and Missouri State were crowned regular-season co-champions, with identical 17-8 records in league play.
 
The Racers have earned the No. 1 seed with their Thursday night victory over the Bears, marking their first baseball title since joining The Valley and first regular-season Conference title since 1991.   
 
The Bears, who will be the No. 2 seed in next week’s tournament, earned their seventh MVC regular-season title and first since 2018.
 
The No. 3-seeded Southern Illinois Salukis (16-11) are set to square off with No. 4 seed UIC (16-11) on Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT. The Salukis earned the tiebreaker by opening the Conference slate with a series win over the Flames.
 
Tournament host Illinois State (15-12) has secured the No. 5 seed and will face No. 8-seeded Indiana State (12-15) in the opening game of the championship on Tuesday, May 20, at 1:30 p.m. CT. No. 6 Belmont (13-14) and No. 7 Bradley (12-15) will wrap up day one action at 5:30 p.m. CT. With a series win against the Sycamores, the Braves earned the higher seed.
