Beck named CSC 2026 Baseball Academic All-American

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State outfielder Carter Beck was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-America team as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Beck receives First Team Academic All-American honors for the first time in his collegiate career. The junior boasts a 3.96 GPA while majoring in Finance at Indiana State. Overall, the 14 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.84.
 
Beck becomes just the fifth Sycamore to receive Academic All-American honors and first since Max Wright (2019) was recognized by the organization. He joins Wright, Wallace Johnson (1979), Marty Martino (1981), and Brady Shoemaker (2009) to be selected by CSC (formerly CoSIDA).
 
The Carnduff, Saskatchewan, Canada native continues to receive recognition for his work both on the field and in the classroom. Beck was previously recognized on the ABCA Midwest All-Region First Team in addition to being named the 2026 Joe Carter MVC Baseball Player of the Year.
 
Beck recorded a a historic campaign for the Sycamores. The junior finished the season among the Missouri Valley leaders in batting average (.348), hits (82), RBIs (59), runs scored (62), doubles (17), home runs (16), on-base percentage (.446), slugging percentage (.637), and stolen bases (12).
 
He recorded a team-high 28 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI contests over the 2026 season and has reached base safely in 55 of the team's 57 games played. Beck continued his success in the Missouri Valley tournament connecting on a two-homer game against Southern Illinois.
 
Beck highlighted his season with an 11-game stretch where he recorded a .510 batting average with three doubles, a triple, five home runs, and 16 RBIs, while posting 11 consecutive multi-hit games from March 15-April 2. He added a trio of grand slams to his name going deep with the bases loaded against Miami (Ohio) (Feb. 20), Bradley (Mar. 20), and UIC (Apr. 3).
 
Four standouts on the field and in the classroom – Noah Sullivan of Mississippi State, Dagen Brewer of Pittsburg State University, Bryan Carney of the University of Olivet, and Alex Johnson of Concordia University, Nebraska – highlight the 2026 Academic All-America® baseball teams selected by College Sports Communicators.
 
Sullivan (Division I), Brewer (Division II), Carney (Division III) and Johnson (NAIA) have each been named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for their respective divisions. Sullivan is a repeat selection as Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year.
