MVC Women's Swim and Dive Championship - Day 3 Recap

Cedar Falls, Iowa - Day 3 of the 2025 MVC Women's Swim and Dive Championship concluded with broken records. Celia Pulido of Southern Illinois started off the finals with a new MVC overall and championship record in the 100y Butterfly. Pulido reset her own record that she broke in the prelims Friday morning. Celia finished with a time of 52.25 to earn the first gold medal of the night. Mia Snow of Illinois State followed closely behind with a time of 52.81 to earn silver. Fellow Saluki Bea Padron finished with a time of 53.11 to earn bronze. 

Alexandria Cotter of Indiana State earned first place in the 400y IM. Cotter finished with a time of 4:17.87 to earn the Sycamores its first medal of the night. Brooklyn Anderson of Southern Illinois followed behind with a time of 4:19.57 to earn second place. Olivia Chambers of UNI earned the final spot in the top three with a time of 4:20.70. 

In the 200y Freestyle, Claire Parsons of Indiana State earned first place with a time of 1:47.83. Little Rock's Olivia Elgin followed shortly behind with a time of 1:48.35 to earn the Trojans a silver medal. Lana Janson followed 0.08 seconds behind with a time of 1:48.43 to earn the Bears third place.

Saluki Olivia Herron broke the 100y Breaststroke MVC championship record with a time of 1:00.24. Olivia earned Southern Illinois their second gold medal of Friday night. Fellow Saluki Ali Robertson followed less than a second behind with a time of 1:00.73 to earn second place. Cabrini Johnson of Missouri State was right behind the two Salukis with a time of 1:01.05 to earn third place and a bronze medal.

Southern Illinois' Celia Pulido broke her second MVC championship record of the night. Celia broke the 100y Backstroke record with a time of 51.74 to earn her second gold medal of the night. Fellow Saluki Liseska Gallegos Gutierrez followed behind with a time of 53.70 to earn second place. Freshman Sahara Visscher of Indiana State earned the final spot in the top three with a time of 54.97 for a bronze medal.

In the final event of the night, UNI reset the MVC championship record in the 200y Freestyle Relay. The Panther's previously set the MVC championship record in 2024 with a time of 1:30.89. Faith Larsen, Abby Lear, Waren Graeve, and Morgan Meyer showed their speed and reset their record with a time of 1:30.74 to earn the Panther a first place finish. The Sycamores followed closely behind with a time of 1:30.81 to earn second. Little Rock earned the final top three spot in the relay with a time of 1:30.83, only 0.02 seconds behind Indiana State to earn the Trojans third place. 

The final day of the 2025 MVC Women's Swim and Dive Championship will start tomorrow at 10:30 AM CT. Prelims will feature the 200y Backstroke, 100y Freestyle, 200y Breaststroke, 200y Butterfly, and 1650y Freestyle.
