Indiana State won its first MVC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship in program history. The Sycamores claim the title with a total of 1440.5 points throughout the championship. The Sycamores beat our Pre-Championship favorites Southern Illinois who had 1331 points.

SATURDAY RECAP
On the final night Claire Parsons of Indiana State started out the night with a gold medal in the 1650y Freestyle. Parsons, the defending champ, earned first place with a time of 16:39.68. Fellow Sycamore Maria Saldana Riebeling followed behind her to earn a silver medal with a time of 16:47.69. UIC' Molly Kroeger came in the final spot of the top three with a time of 16:50.60.
In the second final of Friday night, Celia Pulido defended her title in the 200y Backstroke when she earned first place with a time of 1:54.78. The Saulkis were not contempt with only first as Liseska Gallegos Gutierrez and Brooklyn Anderson earned second and third place. Liseska finished with a time of 1:56.40 to earn silver while Brooklyn finished with 1:58.53 to earn bronze.
Faith Larsen of UNI earned her second gold medal of the 2025 MVC Championship. Larsen finished first in the 100y Freestyle with a time of 49.28. Little Rock's Jaelle Carlson earned a silver medal with a time of 49.36. Makenzie Kurre followed 0.08 seconds behind with a time of 49.44 to earn bronze.
Olivia Herron broke the previous MVC championship record of the 200y Breaststroke with a time of 2:10.11. Olivia earned the Salukis a first place finish. Cabrini Johnson of Missouri State followed shortly behind with a time of 2:13.54 to earn second place. Dorotea Bukvic earned the final spot in the top three with a time of 2:14.38.
In the 200y Butterfly Samantha Wilson of UIC finished with a time of 1:59.24. Wilson earned a first place finish. Freshman Gemma Dilks followed shortly behind with a time of 2:00.67 to earn the Sycamore a second place finish. Fellow Sycamore Haley Halsall finished with a time of 2:02.37 to earn third place.
In the 3M diving Jecza Lopez of Indiana State showcased her skill and finished first with a score of 309.70. Farida Moussa of Southern Illinois followed behind in second with a score of 299.60. Illinois State's Eva Reyes closed out the top three with 290.55 points.
In the final event of the 2025 MVC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, Indiana State took first in the 400y Freestyle Relay. Chloe Farro, Kaleigh Kelley, Sahara Visscher, and Alexa Szadorski of the Sycamores showed their speed with a finish of 3:18.99. The Salukis followed behind with a time of 3:19.55 to earn second place. UNI earned the final spot of the top 3 with a time of 3:20.70.
