MVC Indoor Track & Field Honors (Dec. 10)

ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Valley Conference announced its indoor track and field weekly honors on Wednesday.

MEN'S TRACK: Daniel Chavez, Senior, UIC - Berwyn, Ill.
UIC's Daniel Chavez finished second in heat one of the men's 5000-meter run in the Flames' season-opening meet on Saturday. Chavez logged a school-record time of 14:09.79 in the event.

WOMEN'S TRACK: Trixie Wraith, Senior, Bradley - Herford, England
Bradley's Trixie Wraith won the 3000-meter race at the season-opening Cougar Alumni Open, prevailing over a field primarily of Braves and Big Ten competitors. Wraith clocked a time of 9:19.64, the third-fastest time in program history. It is also the fourth-fastest time in the Midwest Region and 29th-fastest time in Division I.

WOMEN'S FIELD: Tayla Tootle, Junior, Murray State - Circleville, Ohio
Murray State's Tayla Tootle won the women's pole vault at the Saluki Fast Start event held over the weekend. Tootle cleared 3.75 meters to win the event.
