Andrew Carlson of Bradley Named 2024 MVC Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year

ST. LOUIS – Bradley’s Andrew Carlson has been named MVC Men’s and Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year after a Coaches vote conducted in conclusion of the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship. At the 2024 Championships Carlson coached seven all-conference honorees and three all-conference honorable mentions, alongside two freshman of the year recipients, earning the Braves the two conference team titles. These team titles mark the Braves fourteenth MVC cross country titles as a program (seventh women’s and seventh men’s).

Andrew Carlson is in his second year as Bradley Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach after taking over in the summer of 2023. Since taking over, Bradley has not finished lower than second in the MVC Championship, finishing second in 2023 and sweeping the men's and women's championships in 2024. In 2023, Carlson's team placed in the top 10 at the NCAA Midwest Regionals as the women finished sixth and the men finished eighth.

On the team side, Carlson's teams have won 10 team titles at meets it has competed in, sweeping men's and women's team titles in five meets across two seasons. Individually, Carlson has already coached 11 All-MVC runners, four MVC Freshman of the Year awards, six All-MVC Honorable Mentions and tutored three runners to the top three men's 8K times in program history, including Bradley's first sub-23:30 8K time.

Academically, student-athletes under Coach Carlson have earned eight selections to the MVC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team, including two runners who've been selected in both years of his tenure.
