Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer programs combined to record an 9-4-4 (.647) mark during the week. Four teams, Missouri State, UIC, Bradley and Belmont, remain unbeaten entering the third week of play. Valley teams sit 9-1-5 (.767) at home so far this season.
The league had two notable results against teams from Power leagues during the week. UIC was dominant in a 2-0 win over a Wisconsin team that was coming off a win at No. 2 Kentucky and Bowling Green claimed a 2-1 win at home over Michigan.
In the early RPI, The Valley sits fourth in the nation in conference RPI following the first two weeks of action. The Valley sits behind the Sun Belt, Pac-12 and Big Ten and just ahead of the ACC to round out the top five (RPI Update).
Missouri State moves up to No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 (Sept. 5). The Bears comes in at No. 17 in the College Soccer News Top 30 poll and No. 21 in the Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 this week.
The MVC has three teams currently ranked in the latest United Soccer Coaches West Regional rankings. Missouri State sits No. 2 in the region, while Western Michigan sits at No. 8 with Bradley sitting 9th.
This week's schedule features two matches vs. teams from Power leagues as Northern Illinois and UIC each visit Northwestern.
