ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Two Missouri Valley Conference men’s soccer student-athletes were selected in the MLS SuperDraft 2026 on Thursday.
UIC's Edouard Nys was selected in the second round, and 40th overall, while Evansville's Michal Mroz was picked up in the third round, going 83rd overall.
The duo marks the 14th-straight year that at least one men's soccer player from The Valley has been drafted. Nys is the fifth UIC player to be taken in the MLS SuperDraft since its inception (and evolution in various forms) in 1996, and the first Flame chosen since 2020, when Jesus Perez went in the first round (22nd overall) to New York City FC. Mroz became the first player in UE program history to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft, joining Corey Elenio (2008) and Robby Lynch (2011) as MLS draftees, with the Purple Ace duo being supplemental selections.
