MVC Announces 2024 Baseball Championship Site

League Heads to Evansville for the First Time Since 1998

For the first time since 1998, the Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship will be played in Evansville, Ind.  The Conference has announced that the University of Evansville, partnering with the Evansville Sports Commission, will stage the MVC Baseball Championship, May 21-25, 2024 (Tuesday-Saturday).

The 2024 MVC Baseball Championship will be the first on UE’s campus – the 1998 MVC Tournament was played at Bosse Field.

German American Bank Field at Charles H. Braun Stadium has been home to the Purple Aces' program since March 2020. The facility is located on the north-end of the UE campus. The stadium features a full Astroturf field, padded walls throughout the entire stadium with recent dugout and bullpen renovations. Home to over 1,200 seats, which includes several-hundred chair-backed seats, the stadium also features an LED scoreboard among its amenities. Additional plans are in place to expand press box seating to accommodate tournament media.

Eight of the league’s 10 teams qualify for the double-elimination format, and the host is not guaranteed a spot in the field.  Led by head coach Wes Carroll, a UE alum, Evansville posted a 37-24 overall record last season. The 37 victories are the most at Evansville since 2006, and the Purple Aces advanced to the MVC Tournament final for the first time since 2006.
