#3 UIC 2, #6 Belmont 1
The third-seeded UIC men's soccer team opened play in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Sunday, as it hosted the number six seed Belmont at Flames Field in a quarterfinal matchup. After a first half that saw the Flames out-shoot the Bruins 7-1 but remain scoreless, UIC tallied the match opening goal on a penalty kick before surrendering an equalizer to the Bruins. The Flames then got the match-winning goal from Sidney Warden to propel them into the next round of the MVC Championship. (

Jakub Rojek stopped a first half penalty while Diego Maynez and Camilo Estrada scored after the interval to lead the Northern Illinois University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Bowling Green on Sunday night in the Missouri Valley Conference Quarterfinals. (

- Northern Illinois and Western Michigan will face off in their first ever MVC Tournament Semifinal appearance.
- WMU made 15 semifinal appearances as a member of the MAC, while NIU made nine semifinal appearances in the MAC.
- NIU and WMU met twice in the MAC Tournament. The Broncos won the last meeting, beating the Huskies 3-1 in the 2018 quarterfinals in Kalamazoo. Northern Illinois won the 2011 MAC Championship, beating Western Michigan 1-0.
