MVC Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Stanley Chepchieng, Jr., Kabarnet, Kenya - Evansville
In his third race of his third season, junior Stanley Chepchieng turned in another strong performance for the Aces at the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival. Chepchieng set a new PR with a 6K time of 19:29.365, earning him a second-place finish. As a team, Evansville narrowly missed a team meet win, closing the meet just one point off of host Austin Peay. The second-place finish is the third top 15 finish of the season for Chepchieng who earned a 15th-place finish at the Walt Crawford Open and crossed the finish line in 14th at the UAH Chargers Open.

MVC Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Grace Breiten, Soph., Chesterfield, Mo. - Missouri State
Grace Breiten ran a 17:39.6 five-kilometer race at the Chile Pepper Festival, finishing in 13th place out of 400 plus runners. Breiten’s 5K was the fastest in the conference on the weekend and sits in the program’s top-20. The sophomore paced the Bears, helping the squad finish in 4th place among DI teams and 6th overall.

WOMEN
Anna Lowry - Evansville
After earning PRs in her first two races of the season, sophomore Anna Lowry continued to reach new levels for the Aces’ women’s cross country team. Competing at the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival, Lowry used a kick at the end to capture the individual victory and help power the Aces to their second-straight team win. Lowry again set a new PR, improving her time by 35 seconds, finishing the 5k course in a time of 18:00.541, the 13th-fastest 5k time in Evansville women’s cross country history. The individual meet win is the first of her career for Lowry who has impressed in 2018, helping push UE to a pair of team victories and earning MVC Runner of the Week honors on September 11.
