Eight MVC Student-Athletes Set to Compete at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship

Eight Missouri Valley Conference student-athletes from six institutions are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, beginning on Wednesday, June 10.
 
Bradley’s Jamie Phillips will kick off The Valley’s showing at nationals in the men’s 800-meter semifinal run at 8:58 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Drake’s Ethan Elliott is set to compete at 9:10 p.m. CT in the men’s shot put final, while Northern Iowa’s Carter Morton will compete in the decathlon over the course of two days.
 
On the women’s side, Illinois State’s Macee Rivers and Indiana State’s Rachel Mehringer are set to compete on Thursday in the semifinal round of the 100-meter hurdles, beginning at 8:08 p.m. CT. Shortly after, Southern Illinois’ Leah Thames will compete in the 400-meter dash semifinals, slated for 8:41 p.m. CT. Wrapping up The Valley’s showing at the NCAA Championships, Northern Iowa’s Joey Perry and Katy Stephens will participate in the heptathlon over the course of the final two days of the event.
