Jack Crull of Bradley Earns First Team All-American Honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- Jack Crull secured First Team All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing his Bradley career with a sixth-place finish in the Men's 1500m Championship at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Crull entered the semifinals ranked 85th in the country in the event and was tasked with overcoming some of the top runners in NCAA in Heat #1. Crull took advantage of the heat's slower, tactical pace and, despite running in his first NCAA Semifinal event, Crull used his experience from his five-year collegiate career and maintained his position in the inside lane of the track. With a final 400m split of 50.62 seconds, Crull won Heat #1 to qualify for the NCAA Championship race at 3:51.96. Crull prevailed over five runners ranked in the top 11 1500m runners in the NCAA, including the current top runner and collegiate record holder.

The National Championship saw a slightly quicker pace than the semifinal but maintained the trend of tight racing. Crull ultimately finished in sixth place at 3:47.61 in a race where the top 11 finishers were separated by less than a second.

The finish caps an incredible Bradley career for Jack Crull, who departs after winning five Missouri Valley Conference Championships and making three NCAA postseason appearances, all in each of his last three seasons. Crull also exits ranked third or better in program history in four different events. Crull's First Team All-American selection is the first by any Bradley athlete since Wilma Nielsen earned First Team All-American honors for Indoor Track & Field in March 2023. Crull's selection is the first by a Bradley man in over 70 years.
