2025 MVC Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team

Jinyoung Yun of Illinois State is Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Jinyoung Yun of Illinois State headlines the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team as she has been named the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  She is joined on the First Team by nine additional student-athletes, announced by the league office today.  A total of 18 student-athletes received recognition by earning either first-team or second-team honors.

Yun, a graduate student who holds a 3.89 grade point average while pursuing a degree in Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity, was named the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Year, All-MVC, and was named to the MVC All-Tournament Team.  She tied for fourth at the 2025 MVC Championship

A total of 34 student-athletes were nominated for women’s golf scholar-athlete honors.

To meet the criteria, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.  An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).  A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.  Eligible nominees must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship.
