Illinois State, Bradley's Cosler to Columbus, Ohio, for NCAA Women's Golf Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Announced by the NCAA, the Illinois State women's golf team will compete in the Columbus, Ohio, Regional, hosted by Ohio State University on their Scarlet Course from May 5-7.   MVC medalist Jillian Cosler of Bradley will also be in Columbus to represent the MVC and the Braves.

Joining the 77th-ranked Redbirds in the 12-team field include Arkansas (#2 Nationally), LSU (10), Ohio State (14), Kansas (23), Houston (26), SMU (35), UNLV (35), Illinois (47), Kent State (52), Xavier (79), and Oakland (202).

The NCAA Regional Appearance is ISU's 10th in school history, and the second time that the program has competed in a regional on the Scarlet Course, as it qualified for the 2009 Regional there as well. This season marks the third time in the past four seasons that the Redbirds have advanced to an NCAA Regional, as the team has previously competed in East Lansing, Michigan (2024), and Stillwater, Oklahoma (2022).

ISU earned its regional berth by virtue of running away with the 2025 MVC Championship, winning by 31 strokes – fifth-largest margin of victory in MVC history – behind a tournament-record score of 874, topping the previous record by 14 strokes.

This season the team – which has tied a single-season school record with four tournament wins – has been led by MVC Golfer of the Year Jinyoung Yun, who averages 72.0 strokes per round, while MVC Newcomer of the Year Morgan Jones (73.1), and MVC Freshman of the Year Elise Fennell (73.1) follow close behind.

Cosler currently leads the Braves in stroke average in the 2024-25, averaging 75.59 strokes over 29 rounds played. Cosler has two individual titles on the season, becoming the first golfer to win multiple titles in a season since Taylor Ledwein won two in 2020-21. Cosler earned All-Conference honors and was the Elite 18 recipient for women's golf after her conference title.
