The NCAA National Office has announced Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) data for student-athletes who entered Division I institutions in 2018. The Missouri Valley Conference exceled in both academic student-athlete success measures. MVC student-athletes posted a 92 percent GSR and a 66 percent FGR. Both figures are above the national Division I average.
MVC Men’s Basketball posted a 96 percent GSR, which is the third highest rate among all Division I leagues. MVC Women’s Basketball posted a rate of 87 percent in GSR. Overall, the MVC had 69 teams post a perfect 100 GSR. Women's golf (10), volleyball (8), softball (7) and women's tennis (7) had the most teams that notched a perfect 100 GSR.
Valparaiso led the way for MVC institutions with 10 of its MVC-sport programs reporting a perfect 100 GSR. Belmont had 8 and three other league schools (Bradley, Drake, Evansville) are at seven. Belmont and Bradley tied for the league leadership in overall graduation success rate of 97 percent.
