- Against the Field -- Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball programs have 18 pre-determined games against teams that participated in the 2025 NCAA Tournament (additional opportunities will occur in bracketed events.)
- Four Postseason MVC Teams in 2025 -- The Missouri Valley Conference had four teams in postseason play in men’s basketball as Drake (NCAA), Bradley (NIT), UNI (NIT), and Illinois State (CBI) represented the MVC. MVC schools have combined for 12 wins in post-season play the past two seasons. The six postseason wins in 2024-25 matches the ninth-best total in league history.
- 13-4 in the NCAA First Round Since 2012 -- Including Drake in 2025, MVC teams are 13-4 in their first game in the NCAA tourney dating back to 2012. The league has combined for 21 wins in the NCAA Tournament in the past 12 NCAA championships and has had multiple bids 16 times since 1994.
- Illinois State Wins CBI Crown, Defeats Cleveland State -- Including Illinois State this past year, MVC teams are 13-4 in its last 17 games in the CBI (23-12 all-time). The Redbirds closed the season with a 22-14 overall record, the program’s first 20-win season since 2016-17.
- The Valley Runs Deep in the Postseason -- In Missouri Valley Conference history, 18 teams have reached the NCAA Men’s Final Four. The MVC owns four NCAA men’s basketball titles, seven NIT crowns, two CIT championships, and two CBI titles.
- Preseason Poll -- Seven MVC MBB programs are receiving votes in the preseason CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll. Preseason MVC favorite Illinois State leads MVC teams at No. 4 in that poll.
