“We are very excited to have Katie join our team,” said Mike Kern, Associate Commissioner at the Conference.  “She has a tremendous work ethic and is well respected in her field.  We’re confident that she’ll help keep us at the forefront in what is an ever-changing digital space.”

Mucci has been at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference since August 2014, where she has served as the main contact for each of the league’s 18 sports.  She designed all graphics for the SCAC, including the conference’s 25th Anniversary logo and all championship logos, in addition to running all of the league’s social media accounts.  Notably, Mucci worked with various vendors to manage sales for conference apparel, as well as specialty championship gear, and served as the league’s liaison at multiple SCAC championship events.  She also served as an advisor for the conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Under her leadership, the SCAC has become a model for Division III conferences in the areas of social and digital media, and Mucci has been recognized by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors) numerous times for her achievements, including “Best in the Nation” citations for media guide covers in 2015 and 2016.  In January 2016, she became the CoSIDA New Media Committee Chair.  She is also on CoSIDA’s Young Professionals Committee and was named a “Rising 25 Award Winner” by Front Office Sports/Teamwork Online.

At the Missouri Valley Conference office, Mucci will handle all aspects of the league’s creative and digital content with oversight on Conference strategies regarding all social media platforms.  Mucci will also manage all internal design projects, including graphic design for selected league publications and all Conference marketing and promotional projects as well as supervision of the league’s website.  She will oversee all league video content for both the website and MVC-produced television broadcasts

A Texas native, Mucci is a 2014 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, where she served as a sports information intern her senior year in 2013-14.  She earned her degree from UNC in Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis in public relations and advertising.
