2006 MVC Baseball

Top-seeded Evansville defeated Missouri State twice on Saturday to earn its first Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament championship in school history. After a win on Saturday afternoon to force a second championship game, the Aces were victorious again 2-1 in game two and earned the league's automatic bid into the 2006 NCAA Baseball Tournament.

The Aces were led by Tournament MVP Kasey Wahl and Matt Brinkmann, also on all-tournament selection, in Saturday's contests. Wahl went a combined 6-for-8 on the day with the game winning homerun in the nightcap, while Brinkman closed out both games earning a win in game one and a save in game two.
