The Indiana State men and the Wichita State women took home the team titles at the 2006 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Sycamores posted a total of 167 points on their way to the title, and Shockers finished with 169 points en route to the crown.
Mark Milleville of Southern Illinois was named the Most Valuable Athlete for the men and on the women’s side Missouri State’s Tracy Partain was tabbed with the accolade. Partain also took home the Outstanding Track Athlete and Outstanding Field Athlete award. For the men, Jordan Fife of Indiana State was named the Track Athlete and UNI’s Raven Cepeda was named Field Athlete.

SIU’s Amarachi Ukabam posted an MVC, meet and stadium record toss of 17.17m on her way to her second-straight title. Rachel Jansen of UNI was second in the event (16.23) and teammate Morgan Edwards was third (14.50m).

Wichita State’s Jackie Brown took the event by more than a foot with a height of 4.11m. Her mark was a MVC all-time, MVC meet and Stadium record. Melissa Ullenbruch of Indiana State was second with a clearance of 3.80m and WSU’s Ashley Rosenbaum was third with a jump of 3.65m.

Indiana State’s Yolanda Wright took first in the triple jump with a distance of 12.63m. Wichita State claimed the next two places with Stephanie Miller (12.63m) and Amy Weir (12.13m) second and third, respectively.

UNI’s Andre Poljanec won the vault for the second-straight spring with a height of 5.35m. Dylan Schmidt of Wichita State and Indiana State’s Jake Conn finished second and third, respectively. Both had a final clearance of 4.90m.

Fabian Florant of Missouri State took his second-straight title with a leap of 15.65m. Florant became the third two-time winner in league history. Teammate Ryan Taylor was second (15.41m) and Paladin Jordan was third (15.28m).

Illinois State placed first with a time of 45.29 in the one-lap relay. The team of Anna Lovell, Lian Lucas, Cherise Devers and Devon Williams took the top honor. Missouri State was second (46.33) and Wichita State was third (46.95).
