No. 2 Creighton repeated as the MVC Women's Soccer Tournament Champions after a 1-0 win over No. 1 Drake Sunday afternoon in Omaha. Gretta Arvesen scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute off an assist from Marcy Gans.
Gans was named tournament MVP while Arvesen, Ivonne Valentin and Katy Peetz were all-tourney picks. Creighton will represent the MVC in the 2005 NCAA Tournament, for the second-straight year, and third in team history.

Gretta Arvesen's game-winning goal at the 72nd minute of the championship match sent Creighton to a 1-0 tournament title over Drake on Sunday afternoon at Morrison Stadium. Just her first goal of the season, Arvesen scored her lone goal of the year to send CU back to the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight year and third in team history.
Drake ends its season at 11-7-2 while Creighton takes a 12-5-3 record into the NCAA Tournament. Marcy Gans of Creighton was the tournament MVP while the Bluejays will know their fate at 4:30 p.m. Monday when the NCAA Selection Show takes place on ESPNews.
