SPRINGFIELD, MO – Sixth-seeded Drake netted a goal in each half to top No. 7 Bradley, 2-0, in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship opening round Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs advance to the quarterfinals of the MVC Men's Soccer Championship and will take on No. 3 Evansville on Wednesday afternoon.

Drake senior James Pendrigh got the Bulldogs on the board in the 32nd minute (32:53) when he scored on a free kick off of a foul from 20 yards out past Bradley goalkeeper Logan Ketterer. The goal was the first of the season for Pendrigh.

Bulldog senior Mueng Sunday extended the Bulldogs lead when he tallied his first goal of the year in the 89th minute (89:25), blasting a penalty shot in the lower right corner of the net past Bradley's Nathan Wisbey. 

The Drake defense and senior goalkeeper Darrin MacLeod registered their fourth shutout of the season. 

Drake advances to take on No. 3 Evansville on Wednesday in the first quarterfinal of the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship at 3:00 PM Wednesday. The Bulldogs and Aces faced each other on October 22 in Des Moines with Evansville claiming a high-scoring 4-3 win.  Drake holds a 4-0 record all-time against Evansville in MVC tournament play. 

Bradley ends its season at 2-15-3.
