EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Third-seeded Drake netted a goal in each half to top No. 6 Central Arkansas, 2-0, in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs advance to the semifinals of the MVC Men's Soccer Championship and will take on No. 2 Bradley on Friday afternoon.

Drake junior Ben LeMay got the Bulldogs on the board in the 17th minute (17:32) when he tapped in a cross into the box from sophomore Gabe Edel past Central Arkansas goalkeeper Harrison Veith. The goal was the third of the season, while the assist was Edel's fourth of 2015.

Bulldog freshman Nic Jaimes extended the Bulldogs lead when he tallied his third goal of the year in the 57th minute (57:42), blasting his shot in the top right corner of the net after going one-on-one with a Bears defender. Sophomore Steven Enna was credited with the assist on the goal.

The Drake defense and junior goalkeeper Darrin MacLeod registered the fifth shutout of the season.

Drake advances to take on No. 2 Bradley on Friday in the first semifinal of the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship at 3:00 PM. The Bulldogs and Braves just faced each other in the regular-season finale last Saturday in Des Moines, battling to a 1-1 double overtime draw.

Central Arkansas ends its season at 2-15-1.
