Top-Seeded Wichita State won its 16th tournament title with a 12-10 win over Missouri State in the final game of the 2008 State Farm MVC Tournament. The Shockers scored 44 runs in their three wins to earn their first tournament championship since 2005.

The teams battled back-and-forth in a game that saw three tie scores and each team lead by at least three runs before the Shockers prevailed 12-10. Conor Gillaspie, named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament, hit two home runs, one to tie the game in the third, and another to take the lead in the eighth. Nolan Keane had four hits and three RBIs for the Bears.
