A native of St. Louis, Mo., Kristin Swederska starts her 17th season at the Missouri Valley Conference after serving as a media relations intern for swimming & diving, track & field and tennis in 2009-10 and becoming full-time in 2010.
At The Valley, Swederska is the Senior Woman Administrator and oversees the operations of conference championships, including men’s basketball, handles the conference awards programs, manages the MVC Sports Medicine Committee and Mental Health Working Group and is the officiating liaison to four of the officiating programs.
In 2013, she was the assistant tournament director for the NCAA 2nd/3rd Round Men’s Basketball Tournament in Kansas City (hosted by The Valley), served in that same capacity for an NCAA 2nd/3rd Round Men’s Basketball Tournament at Scottrade Center in St. Louis in March of 2014, the NCAA 1st/2nd Round Men’s Basketball Tournament in St. Louis in March of 2016, and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional in Kansas City in 2019, the NCAA Men’s Basketball 1st/2nd Round in St. Louis in March of 2020 which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the NCAA 1st/2nd Round Men's Basketball Tournament, hosted by The Valley, in March 2026.
