Jimmy Heisner joined the MVC in July 2015 and is integrally involved with all aspects of the MVC compliance program, including researching the application of NCAA legislation and providing interpretations and advice to member institutions; preparing rules education materials; processing institutional violation reports; assisting with the review of conference-administered waivers (e.g., medical hardship); and updating compliance-related portions of the MVC website. Other responsibilities will include providing support to a variety of MVC governance groups (e.g., committees, coaches groups); significant involvement with the management of the Conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee; and assisting with championships administration.
Heisner came to the MVC after a six-year stint at the University of North Florida, where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Prior to that, Heisner had two short stints as a compliance intern with the University of Northern Illinois and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletic departments.
Heisner, a native of St. Louis, holds a Juris Doctor Degree and a Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute upon graduating from Marquette University Law School in May of 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as Head Football Manager for Personnel in his final two years in South Bend.
Jimmy resides in the City of St. Louis with his wife Laura and three sons (James, August and Phillip).
