CHICAGO, Ill. – Drake women's tennis began postseason play on Friday with a first-round tilt against Bradley in the Windy City. The No. 4 seed Bulldogs avenged an earlier loss to No. 5 Bradley, 4-2.

The Braves looked to have an edge in doubles play and Mariia Pukhina and Amber Sharp earned a walkover win in the third flight, but Drake had other ideas. Co-MVC Player of the Year Maja Dodik combined with fellow All-MVC First Teamer Jordane Dookie for a 6-4 win in the first match. Shiori Takeda and Kristina Tai teamed up in the No. 2 match for a victory by the same tally to secure the doubles point for the Dogs.
Sharp again earned a forfeit win in the sixth spot, evening the match overall. Pukhina added to the Braves' burst with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the third flight. But it was all Bulldog from there.
Dookie disposed of Anna Belogliadova in straight sets before Dodik did the same to Valeriia Ivanovskaia. Tai then provided the final verdict with a lengthy triumph over Tzu-Ying Tseng in the second bout, giving Drake its 4-2 result.
The Bulldogs' win moves them along in the MVC bracket with another tough test tomorrow. Drake will face off with top-seeded UIC, the tournament hosts, at 10 a.m.
