Jaquan Johnson of Bradley and Roman Domon of Murray State headline the list of selections for the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference specialty teams for men’s basketball.  Domon has been tabbed the conference’s Team Captain for the All-Bench Team, while Johnson is the league’s Team Captain for the Most-Improved Team.

The teams, which were selected by a panel of the league's newspaper beat writers and a panel of media voters, are comprised of a minimum of five student-athletes (top five vote-getters, plus ties) on each squad.



In his first season as a Racer, Domon ranks sixth in the MVC in scoring (14.2 points per game). He's also among the league leaders in rebounding (15th). He's hit 20 points in a game five times this season, with a career-best 29 points scored at UNI in late January. He's hit double-figure rebounding totals three times in his freshman year, with a career-best 11 against Evansville. Domon has recorded three double-double scoring-rebounding games this season, which is second-best among league freshmen.



Meanwhile, the league's Most Improved Team Captain - Jaquan Johnson of Bradley -- has made a significant jump in production from last season, increasing his averages from 6.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game in 2024–25 to 17.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.6 steals per game in 2025–26. He is shooting 44% from the field, 40% from three, and 79% from the free-throw line this season. He has recorded 10 games with 20 or more points, including three 30-plus-point performances, the most by a BU player in a single season since 1990–91. After setting the BU freshman record with 57 steals last season, Johnson now ranks third nationally in total steals with 80 and first in the MVC.
