The Missouri Valley Conference has announced that it will provide public player availability reports for all conference games in men's and women's basketball. The Conference has partnered with HD Intelligence (HDI) as its official player availability reporting service provider. HDI currently supports similar programs for the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Championships and multiple NCAA member conferences.
MISSOURI VALLEY BASKETBALL PLAYER AVAILABILITY REPORTS
The initiative, approved unanimously by MVC member institutions, aims to enhance transparency and protect student-athletes from sports betting-related pressures while maintaining competitive integrity across the Conference. MVC member institutions will be required to submit player availability reports according to the following schedule:
- Initial Report: 9 p.m. local time (relative to game location) the night before competition
- Game-Day Update: Two hours prior to scheduled tip-off
Student-athletes will be assumed to be available unless designated as questionable or out. Reports will be posted publicly on the Missouri Valley Conference's official website and updated as necessary.
This initiative aligns with the NCAA's broader efforts to address sports betting influences in college athletics, including integrity monitoring programs, enhanced education for student-athletes and staff, and advocacy for the removal of high-risk proposition bets. The Missouri Valley Conference joins several other NCAA Division I conferences in proactively implementing player availability reporting ahead of the NCAA's pilot program for the 2026 Division I Basketball Championships.
