Anthony De Schutter became the 24th Southern Illinois men's golfer to win a tournament with his four-under par performance (72-70-70=212) at the event in Manhattan, Kan. The win was Southern's first since Edouard Cereto accomplished the feat at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in 2024. As a team, Southern Illinois' third-place finish was the best of four Valley teams in the tournament. The Salukis were well within striking distance of team champion and host school Kansas State (SIU's three-round 871 was six strokes behind the Wildcats' 865.) The only other MVC individual to crack the top 15 was SIU's Ben Keil (t12th, 219). |
