Five Women's Basketball Programs Earn Academic Honors from WBCA

ATLANTA – Five Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball programs were recognized by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for their hard work in the classroom on Tuesday.
 
Two programs – Drake and UNI – earned a spot on the 2024-25 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll while three additional programs – Belmont, Bradley and Illinois State – earned special mentions for their academic success.
 
The Bulldogs, led by head coach Allison Pohlman, recorded the eighth-best grade-point average (GPA) in NCAA Division I, turning in a 3.741 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year. Tanya Warren’s Panthers rounded out the top 25 with a 3.621 GPA.
 
The Bruins, the Braves and the Redbirds were all listed as special mentions, recording a 3.0 GPA or higher while qualifying for consideration for the top 25.
