NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Softball America announced their All-American teams Tuesday afternoon. Maya Johnson represents Belmont as a Second Team All-American.
Johnson continues to add to her postseason awards as an All-American. The Columbia Station, Ohio native was tabbed MVC Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-MVC, MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, MVC Tournament Most Valuable Player, and NFCA First Team All-Region.
The pitcher is coming off a record-breaking season where she led the country in multiple statistical categories. Johnson ranks first in the NCAA for strikeouts (366), strikeout-to-walk ratio (16.64), shutouts (11), strikeouts per seven innings (12.4), and walks allowed per seven innings (.74).
