Regular-season champion Drake and runner-up Murray State highlight the 2025 selections to the Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer all-league teams. Drake's nine total selections top the league, while both the Bulldogs and Murray State had a league-best three on the first-team unit.
Player of the Year: Mary Hardy, Murray State
Defensive Player of the Year: Megan Wilson, Murray State
Goalkeeper of the Year: Madi Valenti, Illinois State
Freshman of the Year: Kiara Desiderio, Valparaiso

MVC Fair Play Award: UIC
Hardy is the first Murray State player (MSU joined the MVC for the 2022 campaign) to earn MVC Women's Soccer Player of the Year honors. She was the top playmaker in the league this year in Conference matches, scoring four times with three assists for an MVC-best 11 points. For the full season, Hardy had five goals -- including two game-winners -- and five assists for a team-best 15 points.
Murray State's Megan Wilson also became the first Racer to win the league's Defensive Player of the Year award. The Racers ranked third in the league during Conference play with only six goals allowed, and Murray State recorded four shutouts in its 5-1-3 league slate. She scored in the regular-season finale 2-0 win against Indiana State. Wilson's goal made her the seventh Racer with multiple goals this season, the most Murray State has had in a single year since 2021. She added four assists this year to rank fourth on MSU's team with eight points.
Valenti leads the MVC in saves (76), save percentage (.835) and shutouts (10). She is sixth all-time in program history with 156 career saves and her 76 saves is the 10th most in a season for a Redbird goalkeeper. Since the MVC added "Goalkeeper of the Year" in 2013, she is just the second Redbird to earn MVC Goalkeeper of the Year (Aryn Newsom, 2013).
Desiderio paced the Beacons with seven goals this season, tied for the third-most goals by a freshman in program history. She is third among Valley players in goals this year. Desiderio is the first Valparaiso player to earn Freshman of the Year. Valpo joined the MVC for the 2017 campaign.
Lindsey Horner and her Drake staff earned MVC Coaching Staff of the Year for the fourth time as Drake earned its 8th all-time regular-season crown in women's soccer. A Drake coach (or staff) has earned the league's top coaching honor seven times (Horner - 2015, 2017, 2023, 2025) (Corbin Stone 2003, 2004, 2005). Murray State's staff, led by Matt Lodge, earned Coaching Staff of the Year for the first time. The Racers, picked fifth in the league pre-season poll, finished second and have a six-match unbeaten streak, which includes wins in their past five matches. Murray State's 10 wins are the most wins in a single season since 2019.
