ST. LOUIS -- For the fourth-consecutive year, the UNI Panthers will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship.
The Panthers completed their third-straight undefeated season in Conference play with an untouched 16-0 record. The regular-season title marks the 23rd for UNI and 13th for the Panthers under the direction of head coach Bobbi Petersen. Additionally, it marks the 14th time in league history that a team has gone undefeated in Valley play, and 10th time UNI has gone untouched.
Earning a first-round bye alongside the Panthers is the No. 2 seed Valparaiso Beacons. This year is the 10th time a Carin Avery-led Valpo squad has finished in the top two in the conference standings, but is the first-such finish since the 2013 team finished in second place in the Horizon League.
Drake earned the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6-seeded Belmont on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. CT. Quarterfinal action begins at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, with No. 4-seeded UIC hosting No. 5 seed Illinois State.
