The Racers’ all-time leading scorer proved to be a dominant force this week in each of Murray State’s wins over Indiana State and Evansville. Young averaged 29.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 73% (22-of-30) from the field in just 26 minutes per game. Young went a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line and dished out five assists on the week. The Oakwood, Illinois, native moved into the top 50 all-time in Division I scoring in the win over the Purple Aces and leads the nation, men’s or women’s, in career scoring.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: ELYCE KNUDSEN, ILLINOIS STATE

Illinois State’s Elyce Knudsen put up 20 points, four rebounds and three assists to lead the Redbirds past Bradley on Sunday. With the performance, Knudsen surpassed 2,500 career points, becoming one of just three active players with 2,500 points in their career. The outing marked Knudsen’s second-straight 20-plus point performance and fourth this season. She went 8-for-12 from the floor, which marked the only 20-plus point outing, while shooting 65% or better from the field, by a Valley newcomer this season.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: LANIE DOUGLAS, MISSOURI STATE

Missouri State freshman Lanie Douglas had a career weekend as the Lady Bears secured wins against Drake and UNI to remain undefeated at home this season. Douglas shot 60% from the floor, finishing in double figures in both outings. She opened the weekend with 10 points, five rebounds and a career-high three blocks in the overtime win over the Bulldogs. Douglas followed that performance with a career-high 13 points and five-made field goals in the win over UNI.
